Sarah Dacey Charles
A long year of Change and Deepening
Hi there and thanks for stopping by!
How ya doin? I know it's been a tough year in so many ways, but I hope the glorious summer season filled you up with a renewed sense of possibility.
So, What have I been up to? in short, planting and watering creative seeds and paying attention. I've turned to playwriting and I'm currently on the second draft of my first full length play.
Now that the world is starting to open up again, I'm excited to see that our industry is too. I'm so grateful to be getting back into the rehearsal room and on set again. It feels good.
My hope is that after this long year of Covid and social reckoning, there is no going back-- only forward as we work together to tell more truthful and inclusive stories in a work environment that is equitable and safe for all.
I'm in Episode 104 of the hot new action thriller on Netflix, Hit and Run, I love how my scene with series lead, Lior Raz, is shot by director, Mike Barker, using the reflections of the mirrors of a dance studio to create the mood.
I was so excited to return to set after a long pandemic pause. This is me in my trailer prepping myself to shoot my scenes for a Romantic Comedy for Netflix. Show details and streaming dates TBA.
I shot over zoom an exciting new play, Tracy Jones by Stephen Kaplan. It will be streamed as a benefit production for the Bechdel Group, which is an organization that supports underrepresented playwrights and new works that are intersectional in theme and casting. The streaming date for Tracy Jones is October 13-15. Details and links on how to stream is TBA.
I recently inhabited the First Lady from Plains,
in Susan Lambert Hatem's timely new play,
CONFIDENCE AND THE SPEECH
on Theatre Row. What an honor!
